Most people don’t want the best version of you
They want the version of you that best serves them. Now, think about not only how fucked that is, but also how fucked your life is going to feel by trying to make these people like you.
When it comes down to it, the majority of people truly don’t want what’s best for you, even if it’s only subconsciously.
So, what do you think is going to happen when you try to be the best version of yourself based on the version that best suits an individual who wants a lesser version of who you are?
You’re essentially working yourself to death to become a lesser version of who you know you’re capable of being.
Working extra hard to be something you’re not and that is only serving those around you. All the while, the easier and more fulfilling route comes down to you just being your authentic self who’s honest about what he or she wants and where he or she wants to go.
It’s so much harder to be something that you’re not, and it’s impossible to please everyone or make everyone like you.
So, when you put this into perspective…
With you being the only person who can fully control your happiness and well-being, you’re allowing others who aren’t worth your energy to drain you of all the energy you have and need to become the person you want to become.
Killing both your enthusiasm and your progression with something as small as a negative comment you’re trying to avoid.
