Don’t Be Boring when you’re selling

Let’s be real, in today’s digital world, it’s harder than ever to make your brand stand out. But, we’ve got a secret weapon for you: Originality.

When it comes to branding and marketing, originality is key. It’s what sets you apart from the competition and makes you unforgettable to your target audience.

With so many ads and marketing messages being thrown at them every day, if you want to grab their attention and make a lasting impression, you need to break away from the pack.

Originality in branding means having a one-of-a-kind and distinct visual identity that sets you apart from the rest.

That’s talking about your logo, color scheme, typography, imagery, and overall aesthetic. A strong, recognizable brand identity can help you establish trust and credibility with your target audience.

Originality in marketing means thinking outside the box and coming up with campaigns and content that are fresh, unique, and relevant to your target audience. This can include different types of content such as videos, infographics, social media posts, and email campaigns.

Being original in your branding and marketing can help you attract and retain customers, increase brand awareness and engagement, and ultimately drive more sales.

But, being original doesn’t mean being completely different for the sake of being different. It’s about finding the right balance between being unique and being relatable to your target audience.

As Copy Punks, we understand the importance of originality in branding and marketing creatives. We work with clients to create unique and effective strategies that help them stand out in a crowded market, so I wanted to share a few things that we do so you can do them too.

Here’s 10 things to consider when incorporating “stand-out systems” in your branding and creatives:

  1. Creating unique visuals: The use of original and visually striking graphics, illustrations, and photographs can help your brand stand out in a sea of generic stock images.
  2. Unique tone of voice: Develop a distinct tone of voice that sets your brand apart from competitors and resonates with your target audience.
  3. Using different mediums: Experiment with different mediums such as video, podcasts, or social media to create unique and interesting content that captures the attention of your target audience.
  4. Personalization: Personalize your marketing campaigns by segmenting your audience and creating tailored messages that speak directly to them.
  5. Collaborating with Influencers: Partnering with influencers in your industry or niche can help you reach new audiences and add a fresh perspective to your marketing campaigns.
  6. Storytelling: Use storytelling to create an emotional connection with your target audience, and make your brand’s message more relatable and memorable.
  7. Being controversial: Being controversial and taking a stand on certain issues can be a great way to make your brand stand out and attract attention.
  8. Being transparent: Be transparent in your branding and marketing, and share your brand’s values, mission, and behind-the-scenes with your audience to create a genuine connection with them.
  9. Being humorous: Incorporating humor in your branding and marketing campaigns can make your message more memorable and relatable to your target audience.
  10. Being experimental: Experiment with new technologies, platforms, and marketing techniques to create unique and innovative campaigns that capture the attention of your target audience.

Obviously, there are a lot of moving pieces and opportunities, and nothing is one-size-fits-all, but that’s why it’s so damn important to be unconventional, original, and out-of-the-box.

If I can be honest for a second… most of these modern-day marketers are white bread and boring as shit. Even a lot of the guys that I love dearly and are close friends with. That’s not me talking shit at all, it’s just my honest opinion. And it’s not because they’re uncreative or boring people; they just play it safe because they think they have to due to everything they see everyone else doing.

So, if there’s one thing that you take from this message, I hope it is the tl;dr (short version) — Be original. Be bold. Be daring, and most importantly… Be yourself. People will notice and they will appreciate you and your offers more because of it.

Stay shiny,
